Team Realtree

This was the kind donation of Oldboy. Thanks!

A while back a friend of mine pointed out a company that would make an energy drink for you. It seemed a good advertising scheme, especially for a nightclub or something: they could mix their own vodka-Red Bulls, for instance.

The back of the can says this was produced by J&M Concepts LLC, who don't seem to have much of a web presence. What ancillary information I can find suggests they have a couple of brands of liquor and something called "Dollar Energy." So that's probably what these guys are. Not being too dialed-in on the hunting scene, I can't say if this is a good investment for them or not. Maybe people that are fanatical enough to fork out for a licensed camo pattern will be all over a drink in their favorite colors. The can is quite sturdy, and has a plastic coat around the rim for a good seal, so you could re-use it if you wanted.

Speaking of which, this is described as a "neutral pattern" mixing evergreens and hardwoods, and creating a 3D effect using overlapping branches. Apparently a lot of thought went into the design. Though, the natural look is probably a little broken by how it has the trademarks printed within the pattern all over the place. I guess the wildlife doesn't notice that.

The flavor was a kind of subtle citrus, with a slightly chemical taste that put me in mind a little of Jolt or some sort of off-brand cola. Their web site claims there's a "taste of dew" so maybe that's what I'm supposed to be getting. Or maybe, since according to the can this is "NOT FOR CITY BOYS" I just won't get it at all. (No word on whether or not it's for girls, city or otherwise.)

You know, now that I've dwelt on that a bit, all I can think of is that hillbilly saying "Where you goin', city boy?" in Deliverance.

Volume: 16oz. Caffeine content: Not available.

I've seen this, and always wondered! Looked utterly disgusting... 'Team Realtree' isn't particularly good branding for a drink, in my opinion.

Or maybe I'm supposed to be a hippie.

Yeah, I'm not sure their target demographic likes energy drinks. Stag or Keystone would seem more their speed.
